So I found a cool Bible Brain Teaser while working on the website. I thought it was fun so decided to share it. NOTE: I won't share the solution until we hit at least 10 comments on this blog post :). It turned out to be harder than I thought. I found the first 15-16 pretty fast, but the rest took some effort, lol. Also let me know if this was fun, and I'll try to post more.

Here it is! Enjoy!

Can you find the 24 books of the Bible hidden in here? Books can link betwee...

Upcoming Activity - Family Hike

Posted by kirxander on May 21, 2013 at 10:25 PM Comments comments (3)

Hi all! I just want to encourage everyone to invite friends/family to our little family hike in a couple of weeks (6/1).

It's a pretty hike with a nice payoff at the end (beautiful overlook of Washoe Lake, the valley, and the Sierras).  There's also more trails that branch off from the Deadman's Creek trail (really, not as bad as it sounds! :)), for those who want more hiking or more challenge.

Please see below for some pictures of what you can expect!  For more informat...

We've been having a lot of fun lately (after Services, after Study, planned activities).

I want to thank everyone who came and played with us (especially our friends/family from California).

Softball, Kickball, Over-the-Line, Volleyball, playing at the park.  It's been great fun and I appreciate everyone's involvement.  Here's a few pictures from the past couple of weeks.

Thanks Everyone!

On Fire For Christ - Our Youth

Posted by kirxander on March 31, 2013 at 10:10 PM Comments comments (5)

I remember being young - it was a long time ago, lol. I remember being somewhat interested in participating in worship when I was younger (leading an occasional song, giving a short lesson a couple of times a year).  But today, we are so blessed. Our kids are interested in God, they're interested in the church, they're interested in growing and maturing as Christians.

Our boys lead songs every worship service. Our older boys preach every other month, and our youn...

Snow Day!!

What a fun day (well, for most of us . . .).  Everyone had a great time, even though it stayed in the 20's for most of the day.

We had a few notable wipeouts (ask the kids to get more details), but overall, there was a lot of fun to be had.

Let's make this an annual thing! Here's a link to some pictures from today, and please see below for a short video of one of the trips do...

Campfire after church!

Posted by kirxander on January 27, 2013 at 10:00 PM Comments comments (5)

Matt had a great idea to take the kids out after church this Sunday and play a survival game. If you were on a hike and got lost in the woods, could you survive?

It was in the upper twenties outside with s steady wind; not at all a warm evening. Also it had snowed last night, so all the wood, brush was wet. The kids were allowed to bring whatever they would normally have on a hike, and had to try to start a fire.

They did remarkably well, :D. In an hour...

Study Fun Night - Ice-Skating!

Posted by kirxander on January 24, 2013 at 12:20 PM Comments comments (4)

So for our weekly Bible study, we have one night a month designated as a ‘fun night’; a night to spend in fun and fellowship. We’re reminded by Paul in his letter to Philippi:

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Youth Ministry - Coming Soon!

Posted by kirxander on January 20, 2013 at 6:00 PM Comments comments (9)

I recently read that 80% of all decisions to follow Christ are made before the age of 18. 80%!

We all know how important the young people of today are, but how often do we consider how important they are to the growing church?  How much of our time are we dedicating to our young people? How much time are we devoting to ministering to this very important demographic.  This is an area we as a congregation are going to focus on more in 2013.

I'd love to...
